Local celebrities Kelly Khumalo, Busisiwe Cici & Thwala, Mandisa Nduna, Hulisani Ravele, Nelisiwe Sibiya and Dineo Nchabeleng give their voices to curb the scourge of gender-based violence.
With increased statistics on the number of women and children who have been abused in South Africa, artists along with Blackbrain Pictures decided to stand and use their platforms to force the country to take action, seeking justice for the victims by preventing any form of violence.
The 16 Days of Action Against Mistreatment of Women and Children is an initiative approved by the government and, in particular, by Gauteng MEC on Community security Sizakele Nkosi Malobane, which firmly believes that courts should better and better protect the victims and the punishment of these crimes.
"Children are abused daily by their parents, foreigners, women suffer daily from women, women abuse children, there are many crimes that remain unpunished, we have to do better."
The Malobane section has launched an initiative called Asifikeni, which also encourages healthy and responsible living, driving and developing healthy habits to avoid death.
The 16 days of the Activism campaign are produced and shot by Blackbrain Pictures. Production belongs to Mandla N and is directed by Athena Pittela.
