Fluminense players mourn defeat, but bet on Maracanã

After a 2-0 loss at Atletico-PR on Wednesday at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the South American Circuit, Fluminense players asked for explanations for poor team performance and showed confidence in the reversal the score in the game back on March 28 at the Maracanã stage in Rio de Janeiro.

Obviously annoyed, Captain Gum left the Arena da Baixada Stadium in a few words. By addressing radio and television journalists, the defense just said, "he's going to come back."

Mr Ayrton Lucas spent much of the explanation and regretted the outcome, but stressed that the decision remained open. "So far, all the games have been difficult and now we are not going to give up. We have the fans who will support the game and we will do everything to get to the final," he said.

Ayrton Lucas regretted the collective mistakes, especially in the defense field, who suffered from the Atletico-PR attacks and left to get even more than two goals if it was not for the good fight of goalie Julio Cesar.

"We know the strength of Atletico at home, but we can not lose 2-0 as it was, you can not lose so defensively that you end up hurting the game and get the classification," he concluded.
