The National Environmental Authorities Authority (ANLA) gave the first wind power license to the Alpha Wind Generation project to be deployed in La Guajira.
Rodrigo Suárez Castaño, director of ANLA, stressed that the project will work with 65 wind turbines or turbines and an electrical substation that will collect energy from the wind park and then connect to the national transmission system.
The ANLA Director stated that the license was handed over to the support for indigenous communities residing in the village of Limoncito in the municipality of Maicao.
This is the first wind project involving ANLA and is currently working on other environmental permit applications for two wind projects and three solar energy.
According to President Iván Duque's commitment to the Building Country Laboratory in Uribia, where he assured that he will increase the participation of unconventional renewable energy in the country to at least 10%, 10 projects of the same type should be created.
