Pňovany – From Thursday, workers exchange a new bridge construction of the railway viaduct in the area between Pňovany and Bezdružice. The construction of a railway bridge over one hundred years above the Hracholusky dam has already reached its peak and requires reconstruction. Since Thursday morning, the old bridge has been replaced as new.
An investment of CZK 110 million has brought a unique workflow. The individual parts of the structure were assembled on the laying surface just in front of the bridge. A few weeks ago, the first one moved to the old arch of the bridge and was preparing for a reversal. "The new construction was mounted on the prototype and is reversed and secured by the hydraulic system," said Petr Žákovec, who oversees the construction of the plant, describing the work of the Railway Agency (SŽDC).
A technically demanding process awaits the team of experts as part of the overall reconstruction of the bridge two more times. About a month later, the second bow must be rotated and the last third next month. "Of course, this is a process for a long time, the structure must be reversed slowly, all carefully monitored, one step means a shift of about two degrees," explained Žákovec.
"After completing full recycling, the new structure is mounted on the bearings, secured, detached, so that the prototype can be moved to the construction site," he added. From there, a historic steel monster awaits only a piece cut into pieces, ending in fragments. As the builder closed, the other two constructions must move faster.
The investor of the SŽDC event believes that replacing the steel structure of the Viaduct railway station, it is possible to reduce the driving times of the train. The bridge was slowed due to the age of the steel section. "Reconstruction will eliminate the reduced speed, but in particular we will increase the credibility and the carrying capacity of the bridge, which will also lead to a slight decrease in the current driving time," explains SŽDC spokesman Marek Illiaš.
Due to the reconstruction of the Viaduct, the traffic stopped on the line between Pňovany and Bezdružice. "The work on the bridge started in April, and the exits on the line last from the end of July to the end of February, completing the repair also depends on the weather conditions," said SŽDC spokesman Radka Pistorius.
From one bank of the dam to the other, the bridge and the pedestrian will be able to cross the corridors after the end. Its section will be a brand new footbridge that copies the inverted arcs of the structure. Therefore, there are no restrictions on the passage of a train for pedestrians.
The district of Pilsen will thus construct a new forest path in pedestrian crossing on both banks of the dam. (jk, pro)
