Berlin (dpa) – Federal Minister for Transport Andres Scheuer wants to meet again today in Berlin with top executives of the German automotive industry. The morning meeting involves planned modifications of equipment for older diesel vehicles. Equipment modifications – ie modifications to the engine and exhaust system – are part of the new Coalition package to avoid further driving bans. However, manufacturers have so far refused to pay the full cost as required by the government. Also, the issues of responsibility are controversial.
