Cologne –
In the tenth episode of the current season "The Lion Cave", the audience had to wait until the end to see a bigger investment.
Previously, the founders technically presented garbage cans, green grease for dogs, and a fun motorcycle entertainment application.
A presentation about bio-charcoal made Frank Thelen really angry.
Present, the waste container with type function
Mechanical engineer Alex Baechler has something against full refuse containers. From his dissatisfaction, Switzerland has developed the idea for Prezit, a waste container with compression function. Waste is pushed by placing it in the closed bin – into a garbage bag to fill two to three times more waste as in a normal 35-liter waste bin. Baechler wants 125,000 euros and offers for 25 percent of the company's shares.

After two minutes of Baechler's explanation, Carsten Maschmeyer has also understood: "The advantage is that much more in a garbage bag suits." Bingo! The bucket pricetail that gives this advantage costs an amazing 150 euros. One of the drawbacks of the product, Löwen quickly perceives: Garbage must always be pressed in the evening and only the next day can be discarded again. "I dare say that your invention has many problems," says Frank Thelen and does not lean off the window: "This looks like a real jam for me."
Only Ralf Dümmel wins a positive image of Prezit, especially when founder Baechler still comes with carbon grains around the corner to avoid the smell of garbage. For 125,000 euros, Dümmel von Baechler finally gets 30% of Prezit.
Nero, the sustainable charcoal
Aaron Armah and Jakob Hemmers have developed sustainable coal. Nero is said to be "the world's first and only charcoal with organic certification from local forests." Nero already exists in more than 700 stores in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg. The founders now want to develop even more sustainable barbecue products – BBQ tweezers (24,99 euros), spices and sauces – and investors demand 100,000 euros for 10% of the company's shares.
With images from Ghana, where Armah saw the destructive coal production with their own eyes years ago, the founders win among investors. "I am shocked that the tropical forest is cut for charcoal," says Ralf Dümmel.
"I find it cruel, tough and bad," Frank Thelen admits angrily. That was something that bothered him deeply. "And that you saw and then developed such a product, I think it is really wonderful."
Dagmar Wöhrl says she has already visited Ghana and saw the drama with her eyes. However, it also says: "If you want to be environmentally conscious, do not buy carbon".
Lions also criticize the very wide range of products. They do not focus on the main charcoal activity. Even if investors like appearances, none of them make an offer.
Vegdog, the food for dogs
This week, the inevitable dog product comes from Tessa Zaune-Figlar, Valerie Hansen and Lisa Walther. As a solution to feed intolerance, the three vegan women have developed food for dogs without vegans and grains in collaboration with specialized veterinarians and specialized laboratories. Vegdog should also only be produced with peripherals and high quality ingredients (read here). For 10% of the company's shares, the founders want 150,000 euros from the "lion".

Judith Williams asks, "Can you turn the dogs into vegetarians?" Even before the founders are in the studio, Maschmeyer jokes: "If you laugh, yes." The entrepreneur also doubts after Vegdog's presentation that Maschmeyer says Labrador recently linked a carrot through the area but did not eat it, says Maschmeyer Frank Thelen joins his co-lion: He has paprika to test his dog and carrots. "The result:" It did not eat, nothing ".
However, investors are more concerned about the offer: Although this year's turnover will be only 160,000 euros, the founders require only a few less. The product is very easy to reproduce, says Maschmeyer. Dümmel has the same view – large chains would quickly make their own dog food. "The market is a shark tank," says Dümmel and is out.
Dagmar Wöhrl is not discouraged by criticism. It offers the desired money and the necessary know-how, but requires 20 percent of the company's shares. "I am doing this because you are so great," says Wöhrl. The founders of Vegdog accept the offer and are celebrating.
Calimoto, the navigation application for motorcyclists
Conventional navigation systems are looking for the fastest or shortest route for road users. Motorcyclists have other needs, according to Luca Osten, Sebastian Dambeck and Hans-Joachim Allenfort. You want to achieve a great driving experience thanks to the curves. The application of the founders called Calimoto designs attractive motorcycle routes with a self-contained curve algorithm. Excursions can also be programmed through the program. A must for all fans of the motorcycle, Calimoto founders, who already have 16 employees and 300,000 users, now want to expand to Europe and the US and demand 650,000 euros for the tenth per cent of their businesses.

While investors Dümmel, Wöhrl and Williams are out because they have nothing to do with the motorcycle but are rubbed, Carsten Maschmeyer loses the company's value to 6.5 million euros. The fact that even its founders reveal that they are mainly interested in lion's money above all, to grow up with them and thus meet the high score, is even more disturbing: "I do not like it," says Maschmeyer. "We do not pay an increase in score by participating." Maschmeyer is out.
Frank Thelen shows a bigger understanding: "It's a sharp rating, yes, but nothing I could not figure out." You have a thrilling purchase in one place. "But:" I do not have anything to do with the motorcycles and unfortunately I lost almost a friend with a motorcycle accident. "Thelen goes out, the founders of Calimoto leave the studio without investment.
Lazys, the comfortable ski sneaker
Ski boots are tough and uncomfortable and with all the love of winter sports they are not suitable for everyday use. The founders of Cologne and Soest, Marcus Maaßen and Jens Willecke, are aware of this fact and have developed lazy – an attachment for ski boots, which should become warm sports shoes. They are equipped with a non-slip sole and can still be connected to the ski while the skiers are below the slope. Maaßen and Willecke want to enter the market 120,000 euros and are willing to hand over 20% of their shares.

"You are more comfortable," says Ralf Dümmel after a first test. Georg Kofler, who sent a ski driving license, soon created his nightmare: "That does not help much. Friends, this is nothing. I would never put this thing, even if I have it for free. "Maschmeyer is bothering the price of 49 euros for Lazys:" For a piece of plastic and a string? "Even the business plan is immature, the founders can call few trusted numbers. They do not get an offer, entering the Lazys market is yet to come.
Aspira Clip, the mini-inhaler for everyday life
Ashira clip by Vinh-Nghi Tiet and Wolfgang Kleiner must be a world first: a mini-inhaler for everyday life, which is introduced directly into the nose and sprays essential oils during breathing. It should help to relax or eliminate colds. The founders have already invested 1.3 million euros in their invention, exploiting production facilities, patenting technology and medical approval. 10% of their company now wants to give it and collect 600,000 euros.

The Lions will taste the three varieties "Med", "Fresh" and "Relax" with different flavors, tweaking their nostrils and they like it a lot. "This is not at all unpleasant," says Dümmel. The three weeks' wastage time, the price of just under nine euros, and the dm pharmacy branch placement make investors sit and get acquainted. Frank Thelen, however, is the risk of too much investment, even Judith Williams is out because he does not have the effect of inhalation of steam. Dagmar Wöhrl makes no offer, but two "lions" remain.
Dümmel and Maschmeyer consult one another and quickly agree: "If you have any idea how to make money out of it then we are." And Ralf Dümmel does not want to hide his enthusiasm: "I think the issue is unbelievable But the valuation of six million euros is too high for him and for Maschmeyer, instead of ten, the duo expects 30% for 600,000 euros.

The expression of the founders in their faces makes it easy to see what Vinh-Nghi Tiet says a little later in the consultation: "I will not do it." Wolfgang Kleiner suggests an opposite bid of 15%, while Maschmeyer and Dümmel assert each other: "30 or not." Indeed, both manage to persuade the founders of Aspira-Clip: "We are selling seven digits in the first week." They put another 400,000 euros in the current business, and now sell the savory nose clips. Founder Tiet: "This is going to be a great story."
