Xiaomi started installing Android 9.0 Pie on Mi A2 via OTA in India, after Motorola did the same for its own One Power today in India. The new update for Mi A2 users comes with features recently unveiled by Google in the latest Android version of Vanilla. However, it seems that the update concerns a limited number of devices at present. Some Mi A2 users will have to wait a bit.
The update size is over 1GB and brings with it some very interesting features like gestures for navigating the device, custom brightness and better battery management, Google slices, app actions, accessibility menu and a new shortcut for easy screenshots . In addition to the above, the update will be secured with November's security patches.
To remember, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is one of the Android One devices. This time the company provides the update according to the schedule, unlike last year. Last year the update for Mi A1 failed to meet the device updates schedule.
In the past, Xiaomi was having problems with bugs on its Android One devices. B.C. when upgrading the Xiaomi Mi A1 the company had to stop upgrading Android Oreo twice. In addition, many Mi A2 users complained about their battery's low battery performance as well as the performance of the fingerprint reader. Hopefully this time Xiaomi will be able to provide its customers with a version of Android Pie without problems.
