Kuala Lumpur: As of 6 a.m. Monday, October 11, water supply was restored to 80% of the 50 areas in Kuala Lumpur affected by an unplanned water outage after a pump pipe leaked at the Segambut Pump House on Sunday, October 10. Pengurusan says Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.
The water concessionist said water supplies to ten areas had not yet been restored, as of 6 a.m. Monday.
The ten regions are Anjung Tiara, Bukit Prima Pelangi, Bukit Segambut, Dutamas, Taman Bukit Sri Bintang, Taman Flora Impian, Taman Prima Impian, Taman Seri Bukit Segambut, Taman Sri Bintang and Taman Sri Sinar.
“The duration of the disruption and restoration of water supply in the affected areas will vary depending on the distance of the area where consumers are located and the water pressure.
“Air Selangor wants to advise consumers who have and will receive water to allow the tap to flow until the water is clean before using it for daily consumption,” he said.
He also hoped that consumers receiving water would use water sparingly to ensure that the recovery process in other affected areas went as smoothly as planned.
