Monterrey, N.L.-

Taking into account the low temperatures and the avoidance of the sick population, the Ministry of Health reinforced the influenza vaccination campaign and installed a unit in the Pavilion Citizen.

Hundreds of people who went on to perform formalities on the official website were given the opportunity to vaccinate and vaccinate children.

Health Minister Manuel de la Cavazos, along with health care staff, applied some of the doses and asked the community to call on their friends and family to implement the vaccine.

"We are applying the influenza vaccine, it is very important to be vaccinated, especially people in risk groups such as pregnant women, adults over 60, girls and boys from six months to five years or people with chronic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, HIV / AIDS.

"These people are more likely to become complicated if they receive this disease, so it is important to vaccinate and invite their families to do so," the Secretary explained.

Influenza is a contagious disease and can be prevented by vaccination by covering it with a tissue or the inner corner of the arm when you cough or sneeze and frequently wash your hands.

Symptoms are sudden onset of fever, generally dry cough, muscle and joint pain, as well as headache, malaise and nasal discharge.

De la O Cavazos advised the population that if any of these symptoms do not self-medicate and immediately go to the nearest health facility.

So far this season, which began last October, only one case of influenza has been reported, so it is important to take precautions to avoid the ill.
