17% increase in tourist arrivals in Agadir in October

The tourist attendance in Agadir during October increased by 17.72% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Council (CRT) Region, the number of tourists who visited the first national seaside resort reached 93,918 compared to 79,783.

The growth came from the main publishing markets as well as from the national tourists who reached the top of the customer base with a total of 24,552 visitors versus 21,349 last year, marking an increase of 15 points.

The French, who came second, numbered 17,008 tourists compared with only 13,963 tourists (+ 21.81%), followed by Germans reaching 13,852 against 12,390 in October 2017, which represents an evolution of 11,80%.

Four-star hotels received the largest number of customers in October, with 23,867 followed by holiday clubs with 20,946 and five-star hotels with 17,287 tourists.

According to the CRT, the average occupancy rate in the Agadir classified hotels improved to 54.25 units versus 50.83 points.
