"Wisting" – Jørn Lier Horst for the "Scissor" smelled: – A leader who was not in control

Last week, Dagbladet talked about the chaotic recording of the television series "Wisting" TV3 and Viaplay, where a budget bay worth at least 12 million NOK went far beyond production.

Approximately 600 people participated in the recording, according to the production company behind the Cinenord series. Dagbladet is coming in contact with the previous week, with many involved criticizing how the company made the production of "Wisting", but no one dares to express themselves with the fear of losing future jobs.

The famous criminal writer Jørn Lier Horst holds the character rights of William Wisting. The television series "Wisting" is based on two of the books he wrote, "Hunting dogs" and "Hulemannen". Horst has also served as a consultant to make the story telling the police officer as realistic as possible.

He knows the registration problems that happened on the way.

"I am aware of the fact that the budget was exceeded, which gave fewer days to shoot in Larvik and that there were staff replacements. There was a person in the picture at first, a leading position in the recording administration, who had absolutely no control, the author said.

He does not comment on personal issues

In this case, Dagbladet belongs to both the job description and the name of the person. The film worker made the statement to Horst, but he does not want to comment. Dagbladet has been in contact with a company that has hired the current employee "Wisting" earlier. They say they were very satisfied with the work that man has done in other productions.

Responsible for "Wisting," producer and general manager, Silje Hopland Oak at Cinenord, tells Dagbladet that he does not comment on personal issues.

As Dagbladet reported on Saturday, this is a bit of what happened on the road to recording with "Wisting" and was criticized:

• A large overload has led to a huge budget talk of tens of millions of dollars, which in turn has led to chaotic and inadequate working conditions.
• The production company is accused of impotence.
• Employees realized that the wage bill was not paid in time.
• The main people left the project: Director, Producer, Production Manager and Photographer.

The reason for the problems was difficult weather, high ambitions, demanding writing, illness and strike, not impotence, says Cinenord.

– You do not worry

Overuse of money at the beginning of "Wisting" was followed. Cinenord admitted to Dagbladet that dramatic moves and changes, both artistic and practical, took place.

Cinenord, among other things, said, according to Director-General Silje Hopland Eik, "to simplify and tighten the script, less film in exact positions and make big savings in the budget." In addition, they worked together as a director, producer, photographer and production director.

But Horst does not worry how this could have affected the "Wisting".

"It is clear that such major projects are being served continuously, but I think CEO Trygve Allister Diesen is in a position to handle." "I'm not worried about the series." The look I've seen looks very good, says Horst.

Weak business economy

In January, Cinenord won more than 50 million NOK in public funding from the Norwegian Film Institute to create "Wisting" and the drama series "Everything for Norway". At the same time, Cinenord AS's 2017 accounts are characterized by large observations of the debt and the auditor regarding "illegal loans to shareholders" and "uncertainty associated with further transactions".

"Our subsidiaries, Cinenord Kidstory and Cinenord Drama, have a profit, but due to a lack of internal pricing for the project companies, Cinenord AS unfortunately has a deficit in 2017, which is now corrected for 2018," said Hopland Eik Dagbladet.

– Using corporate cards in my name until the productions were postponed for 2017, but settled with evidence-solving now in 2018, when the project went through the end of the year. There is no uncertainty associated with further activities for Cinenord as a group.

– It has to be checked

Head of the International Relations Division of the Norwegian Film Institute Dag Asbjørnsen states that Cinenord has not paid the funds allocated to Wisting up to NOK 26 million before the company handed over a project-approved account.

"We will control the use of money and then 25% of the costs associated with registration in Norway will be refunded if Cinenord meets the requirements," says Asbjørnsen.

Dagbladet has been in contact with Sven Nordin's principal director, Thorild Strand, who does not want to comment on the recording. The press director at Viaplay and TV3, Fredrik Olimb also does not want to comment on the production project with "Wisting".
