Wall Street deals with the mid-term elections


At around 14:46 (Lisbon time), the Dow Jones Industry Index rose 25,351.73 points, while Standard & Poor's returned 0.23 percent to 2,729.20 units.

The Nasdaq, in turn, declined 0.7 percent to 7,305.54 points.

Analysts who came into contact with Bloomberg said investors are cautious as midterm elections in the United States take place on Tuesday, and they also expect a meeting of the Federal Reserve that can provide data on monetary policy stance.

On Friday, Wall Street closed lower with Dow Jones Industrial losing 0.43%, Standard & Poor's 0.63% and Nasdaq 1.04%.
