Dakar, October 16 (APS) – On Saturday, about 3,040 doctors registered with the Senegalese National Medical Order (ONSMS), which we learned from officials of this self-regulatory body.
“As of September 30, 2021, 3,040 physicians are enrolled in the schedule at 80% for Section A and 20% for Section B,” Dr. Abdou Kane Diop said in the publication of the order schedule. Launch of the strategic plan 2021/2025.
“This is an official reference list of the population in 36 specialties, including 46% general practitioner, 6.5% gynecology, 5.5% pediatrics and 3.5% cardiology,” he said. “It’s the third representative of women since 2018,” he said.
Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, who chaired the meeting, congratulated and wished “a successful career for new doctors registered in 2021.”
“They acted according to the rules and now they have the right to practice,” he said.
Those who are not in the roles are illegal. They expose patients, harm their peers, and tarnish the image of our health care system. Therefore, I call on all doctors who want to practice, register and participate in the life of the Order, “he said.
According to him, “illegal medical practice is a growing threat to the health system. It’s a disaster to fight. “
Returning to the strategic plan 2021/2025, the President stressed that he aims to “contribute to achieving the goals of the health sector.”
“This contribution will be aimed at improving access to quality service through a company that addresses their concerns,” said Dr. Bolly Diop.
The vision of the plan is to “contribute to the improvement of health services through the advancement of the medical profession”, a plan that “draws the attention of physicians to the welfare of societies and is a powerful command in their service”. Dr. Diop said.
